Focus On: COOKIE WALK: Sunday December 14th, 9am-3pm

You may be hearing about baking for the Cookie Walk and coming to the Cookie Walk. If you are new to Bay View United Methodist Church, you may be wondering WHAT it is and WHY we have one?

I first imagined that it was like a cake walk and you could win cookies instead of cake…

I was wrong.  I then heard it was a cookie sale with lots of choices of cookies.  That sounded pretty good to me.

I then heard that the money raised goes to neighborhood charities.  Even better!  Now I could buy more cookies and feel good about it!

When I actually attended my first cookie walk, I was even more delighted.  Instead of pre-wrapped plates of cookies, I was able to CHOOSE from tons of different cookies.  It was like shopping in a glorious cookie bakery!  Cookies are weighed and paid for by the pound.  You can fill a box for yourself, as well as creating custom boxes to give to neighbors, family or save to bring to holiday gatherings.

This year I have decided to expand my participation in this fun event and am going to try my hand at baking.  Interested bakers can sign up on the Cube. Please tell your friends and neighbors to come check out this awesome annual event.  Plus, you get to see church members donning cute holiday aprons.  It is a festive time that will get you in the mood to celebrate the coming of the Christ Child.
