Focus On: Christian Help – MISSION UPDATE
Just a quick message from Christian Help, the organization in West Virginia we sponsored through our giving tree at Christmas. We were a part of bringing gifts and meals and togetherness to a total of 340 children from 140 families. A quote from their newsletter emphasizes that the Christmas distribution is done in such a way “to respect each family’s dignity.” Gifts are not chosen for the family; they get to choose. They are not peoples re-gifts or left overs. This aspect of serving with respect means so much to people who have the often humbling task of accepting help from others. Thanks for your support of this great program!!
Christian Help is currently requesting donations of shoes in good condition for their “clothes pantry”. They are also in need of ongoing monetary support to provide families with one month of energy assistance to keep their power from being shut off, as well as gas money for rides to medical appointments.
