We can get easily caught up in the Spring metaphors of growth and new life in nature. They apply so readily to our life long journey as Christians – always seeking new understanding and growing in our willingness to respond to God’s unconditional love and grace. It’s nice to think about the easy images of flowers blooming and more sunny days – but there are also those images of soil being tilled and the slow, intentional work of planting seeds into the ground hoping that it’ll rain – but not too much! Growing our faith life is beautifully easy and hard work too sometimes.
Friends – as we continue to journey in the hope and joy of resurrection in these 50 days of Easter, I want us to continue to grow. We have had the joy of many returning visitors inquiring about membership and I have had long time friends of the church asking for more information about the faith.
I want to encourage you to make a six week commitment that will bridge these 50 days into Pentecost with this study that I hope will help those who are inquiring about membership and all of us who want to know more about this community of faith called United Methodist.
Please read the announcement below and view the materials in the Gathering Space. Then pray about joining this group and committing yourself to six weeks of growing together in community.
I look forward to the journey!
Peace to each of you,
Pastor Kelly
